We build software for people who run hostels and PGs in India — the kind with 40 to 300 beds, run by one owner and a manager, mostly from a phone.
What we do
BedDesk keeps a hostel’s daily operations in one place: which beds are free, who is staying in them, what they owe, and what the kitchen needs to cook. Owners use it on their phone; residents never install anything.
The part we care most about is meals. A resident tells the hostel in advance that they will be out for dinner, the kitchen cooks one plate fewer, and the resident gets that money back as credit on next month’s rent. Both sides come out ahead, and the food that would have gone in the bin never gets cooked.
Our vision
Every hostel in India runs on a register, a WhatsApp group and the owner’s memory. We think that work deserves proper software — priced so a 40-bed hostel can afford it, and simple enough that nobody needs training to use it.
Most software for this market was built for large chains and priced for them. The owner of a single 60-bed hostel gets a spreadsheet at best. We are building for that owner first, on a phone, in plain English, at a price that does not need a finance meeting.
Longer term we want the food-waste side of this to matter beyond one hostel’s kitchen. A hostel that stops cooking 200 unwanted meals a month saves money and throws away less. Multiply that across a city and it stops being a rounding error.
How we make money
A flat ₹999 per hostel per month, plus GST. One plan, every feature. We do not take a share of anyone’s rent, we never touch our customers’ money, and we do not sell data — the Privacy Policy says so in writing.
Who we are
BedDesk is a sole proprietorship registered in Telangana, India, operating from Hyderabad. We are early — a small team building this alongside the first hostels using it, which is why the product changes most weeks and why we answer the phone ourselves.
